NADRA (Nercwys and District Rural Association)

Nercwys and District Rural Association was formed in 1981 to focus public opinion toward the preservation of existing beneficial values throughout the district and the provision of services and amenities for the community.

Aims and Objectives of the Organisation

1) To provide a forum to represent the local residents on matters of common concern.

2) To be a "watch dog" for the residents on public and corporate bodies, e.g.

a) It was N.A.D.R.A who persuaded the Clywd County Council Planning Department to reduce the permitted output from Burley Hill Quarry from 1.3 million tonnes per annum to 0.8 million tonnes per annum as part of the County Council planning consent conditions. This amount has not been increased in the last 14 years.

b) It was N.A.D.R.A who persuaded Clwyd County Council to provide a footpath on the Nercwys/Mold road improvement. This would have not been in place had we not taken action!

3) N.A.D.R.A publishes and prints the Nercwys News.

4) N.A.D.R.A organised the litter bins by the Church and School through Flintshire County Council.

5) N.A.D.R.A funded the creation of the Village Website.
